Parking rules in Dublin

What to know before you park on the street. Rules change: the signs on site always decide.

  • On-street parking is split into zones with different charges (yellow, red, green, orange and blue), shown by the colour strip on the street sign and on the pay and display machine.
  • The paid hours are on the signs, often 07:00 to 19:00, Monday to Saturday; some areas also charge in the evening and at weekends, and a small central part of the yellow zone (the white zone) charges on Sunday afternoons.
  • Pay at the machine and leave the ticket on the dashboard, or pay through Payzone with the Parking Tag app, a text message or a call. Outside the signed hours and on some public holidays, parking is free.
  • With a Disabled Person's Parking Permit on display you park free in any pay and display or disabled bay, with no time limit.

Where the parking information comes from

Parking locations and many of their attributes are based on OpenStreetMap contributor data. Parking Space Finder classifies the recorded fee value for the map filters and presents available location details in a consistent format. Community data can be incomplete or become outdated between updates.

What this map cannot guarantee

  • A marker does not mean that a space is currently empty; the web map has no live occupancy feed.
  • A free classification reflects the recorded data, not a guarantee that every vehicle or time period is exempt from payment.
  • Signs, temporary restrictions, permits, access rules and on-site instructions always take priority over the map.
  • Check the entrance, operating hours and payment information at the location before leaving your vehicle.
